Morticia the Spider (a Black Widow, of course) started out  as a black, furry bedspread  from Greg's childhood.  Her endoskeleton was originally built from  bent coat handers, with each leg wired to a point around a  central "body." Her abdomen and  thorax were stuffed with polyester fiberfill.  Each leg wire ran through a 3-foot section of styrofoam pipe insulation, which  is then covered by furry "socks."  The characteristic hourglass on her abdomen was done by inserting red satin in finished cutouts in the furry body.  In a 1997 reconstruction, the coat hangers were replaced by insulated steel wire (much easier to work with), and she was lightened significantly by replacing the fiberfill with a chicken-wire frame.

A number of latex "friends" help us  entertain and horrify the kiddies.  From left, we have Pile O' Skulls I and II, key features in  our Grave-Yard; (Drop Dead)  Fred, who with only head and hands is still all man;  Eddie (any Iron Maiden fans recognize his countenance?); and Jack, whose single glassy  eye can peer into the most stalwart heart and turn the blood to ice.

What's Halloween without a little cheesecake?  In 1997,   Spiderella dispensed treats and ghoulish cheer to those brave enough to get to the front door.
