Technology rules the day since coming to Petaluma. At the Petaluma location the little graveyard display has grown into a full-scale haunt. What started with an ambient noise loop in the yard and strobe lightning on the porch, has evolved into multiple light and sound sequences controlled by the Scare-o-Matic.

The original thunder tape loop and single box strobe have evolved into a full-scale maelstrom. The unsuspecting public can see the six strobes from three blocks away, lighting up the Halloween sky.  Pre-programmed scenes (ie:  Garage O' the Damned and Spectre) create an all-out assault on the senses as visitors pick their way through a clamour of noise, lights, and fog to reach the porch.

In 1999, Charles hit the scene. Here he is in an earlier stage of development.

Charles was the first foray into animatronics. He is a pneumatically-powered fright machine. When triggered (either manually or via sensor), Charles rises swiftly out of an innocent-looking trash container, extending his ghastly arm and bellowing with fetid breath. His visage is made more terrible by the two mini-strobes illuminating his face.
